Here's an opportunity for families who would like to know more about helping their student to navigate the challenges of school and college application process. The emphasis here is on supporting your child and building strong relationships that prevent problems before they start. The event runs from 6-8 pm, and refreshments will be offered. For more, see the circular below.
We've already announced this on our front page, but in case you missed it: our biggest congratulations go to our phenomenal senior Zané Chase, who has won the prestigious Posse Scholarship!
Posse chapters are active throughout the country, but the New York City chapter is especially competitive, awarding scholarships to just ten seniors from the city's graduating class.
Posse award winners receive full scholarships to a school of their choosing, and Zané will be attending Lafayette College in Easton, PA. Her award is valued at more than $250,000 and will cover all of her educational expenses for the four years of her undergraduate degree.
Our school community is delighted for Zané: the Posse application process is grueling, with numerous group and individual interviews, essays, forms and meetings with college officials. Posse recipients are celebrated for their exceptional drive, academic abilities, magnetic personalities, and fierce commitment to improving the world, and Zané will certainly fit in among that company. We could not be prouder of her hard work.
We're debuting our new website this Thanksgiving week. Thank you all for your patience while we updated our old one!
As always, we welcome family and student feedback about the new site and its features. If you find a broken link, have images you would like us to use, or just want to make a suggestion, please feel free to leave us a message here on the blog, or use the contact form and we'll respond promptly.
Our goal is to make this website a living document and a reflection of the life and culture of our school. On this blog, you'll here from parents, teachers, and students who want to share the work they're doing, and you'll receive updates from our PTA about issues under discussion.
